Server v8.2.9 Release Notes

Major new features: Form Submission Archiving, Rich Text Formatting, Visit Duration Variance Tracking, Streamlined GP Connect Activation, and Branch Administration Enhancements

We are introducing ACP Server version 8.2.9, a comprehensive release delivering several significant new capabilities alongside important stability and performance improvements. This update introduces Form Submission Archiving for efficient lifecycle management of submitted forms, Rich Text Formatting for enhanced text entry in form submissions, Visit Duration Variance Tracking for improved visit monitoring, Streamlined GP Connect Activation for a simplified single-workflow connection to GP Connect, and Branch Administration Enhancements for managing Evo-created users.

This release also includes performance improvements, security enhancements, and resolutions for multiple customer-reported issues across Forms, Activities, Visits, Automation Rules, and platform stability.


New Features

  • Form Submission Archiving -- Administrators can now archive and unarchive individual or multiple form submissions, keeping case records organised while retaining full access to archived data for compliance and audit purposes. Archived submissions are hidden from daily workflows and mobile devices, ensuring staff always see current information. Role-based permissions control who can archive and unarchive, and all actions are recorded in the audit trail. Archived forms can also be included in custom reports and Body Map submission reports when needed.

  • Rich Text Formatting for Form Submissions -- Users can now apply formatting such as bold, italic, underline, and bullet points to text within Text Box and Paragraph form components during form submission. Rich text formatting is preserved across form history, PDF exports, printed forms, reports, and Excel exports. Administrators can enable this feature per tenant through Tenant Preferences.

Important: Rich Text Formatting should only be enabled after both Server 8.2.9 and ACP Mobile 7.10.0 have been released to all customer environments.

  • Visit Duration Variance Tracking -- Managers can now configure variance reasons and thresholds at the tenant level to track and review visit duration discrepancies. When a visit duration falls outside the expected range, carers can record a reason, and variance records are displayed in the case history for oversight and compliance purposes.

  • Streamlined GP Connect Activation -- Care professionals can now activate GP Connect for a service user in a single workflow. The system automatically searches the NHS Personal Demographics Service (PDS), retrieves the NHS number and GP Practice ID, and populates the service user's profile β€” removing the need for manual data entry and reducing activation time from several minutes to seconds.

  • Branch Administration Enhancements -- Branch Administrators can now manage users created through the Evo platform who do not yet have a branch assignment, enabling more flexible user administration in multi-branch environments.


Improvements

  • Mobile Sync Performance -- Improved performance of the mobile case synchronisation endpoint for faster data sync to mobile devices.

  • File Type Validation for Image Fields -- Image upload fields now validate file types to prevent unsupported formats from being uploaded.

  • Case Files Performance -- Improved loading performance on the case files visits page.

  • Activity Pagination -- Resolved an issue where the activities per page selector was not functioning correctly for 25 and 50 items per page.

  • Case Role Group Selection -- Improved responsiveness of the Group selection field on Case Roles when multiple roles exist on a case.

  • Evo User Deactivation -- Improved synchronisation so that deactivating an Evo member correctly deactivates their ACP account.

  • GP Connect Service-Level Configuration -- System Administrators can now enable GP Connect at the individual service level through the Add/Edit Service modal, providing more granular control over which services have access to GP Connect.

  • Session Management -- Declared the Cloudflare session affinity cookie as essential to prevent unnecessary login prompts.

How this version will be made available

Server v8.2.9 will begin rolling out to customer environments on 25th May 2026 at 23:00 (BST) and continue over the following days.

  • Smart Notes Usage Report -- Comprehensive usage reporting showing Smart Notes recording consumption by branch and form for cost allocation and billing management.

  • Geofencing Administration -- Location-based attendance verification to prevent clock-in/out attempts when caregivers are outside defined geographical boundaries of client locations.

  • Evo Tab Integration -- Access Care Planning embedded directly in the Evo tab for seamless navigation across Access products.

  • AI Visit Note Summary -- AI-generated summaries of recent visit notes displayed in the mobile app, helping carers quickly understand care history before starting their shift without reading through multiple individual entries.

  • Smart Notes AI Form Optimiser -- An AI-powered readiness checker built into the form designer that scores forms for Smart Notes compatibility, highlights field-level gaps, and applies optimisations automatically to improve voice transcription accuracy.
