You can add PRN medication to a service user's care plan to be given as required. This means the medication won't show on the usual care plan activities but can be added if needed. To do this, follow these simple steps:
Click the three-line menu.
Click the relevant service that the service user is under.
Select the relevant service user.
From the left-hand panel, click Care Plans.
From the top right, click PRN.
Click Add Medication Activity.
Type the medication name, and fill out the required fields.
Click Save.
If the medication you are searching for does not appear in the list, that is because it is not added to the supported medication list. To do this, follow this handy guide.
πNote: Once the PRN medication has been added, it won't show on the EMAR until the medication has been administered. For example, if it is not administered until Wednesday of the week, it won't show until then.
