Mobile app permissions
Upon installing the Access Care Planning app and opening it for the first time on your device, you'll be requested to grant the app specific permissions.
Permission | Reason |
Access to make and manage phone calls | When you tap a telephone number within the app, it will automatically open your deviceโs phone dialer, eliminating the need to manually enter the number. Importantly, the app does not make calls in the background and does not access your contact list. This ensures your privacy and keeps call actions fully under your control. |
Access to photos, media and file | The app allows users to upload photos directly within a form while completing it. This feature enables you to either select an image from your device or take a new photo using the camera app. Importantly, the app does not access all your photos, media, or files in the background. It only requests permission to let you manually choose or capture a photo for upload, ensuring your privacy and control over your content. |
Access to devices location (Location Services) | When a user taps "Start Visit" or "End Visit" in the app, GPS verification confirms the location for Time and attendance tracking. This ensures accurate logging of visit times and locations. This must be enabled to login to the app. Importantly, the app does not track your location in the background. GPS is only used at the moment you initiate or complete a visit, maintaining your privacy while supporting reliable attendance records. |
App data usage
Data usage can vary greatly based on the user. Factors including but not limited to, the number of visits, number of unique cases, number of forms and number of activities should be considered when reviewing the apps data usage.
โ
Whilst this isn't something that is tracked by the Care Planning app itself, most smartphones will provide app data usage information within the settings.
Whilst the Care Planning app works in offline mode, it requires an internet connection in order to download new data from the server and send data back. If you believe that the app is using a lot of/all of the users' data, it may be due to multiple things:
Visiting a lot of unique clients results in a lot of case downloads.
Completing visits with a lot of activities.
Submitting a lot of forms.
Outside of the UK
The Access Care Planning app can be accessed on both IOS and Android devices, both within and outside the UK. It's important to make sure that your IOS and Android versions match the latest requirements.
Language
Currently, the app only supports English being used as the device's default language and it can encounter some issues with information being shown incorrectly when attempting to use a different default language.
Device not compatible
If your device is no longer compatible with the care planning application, it could be because the device's operating system is outdated. Ensure you check your device settings for any available software updates and keep your device's operating system is up to date.
