Overview
ACP Mobile now tells you exactly what is happening when you lose connectivity. Instead of a generic error, the app shows you whether the problem is with the ACP server or your own internet connection, so you know what to do next. If the server is unavailable, the app switches to offline mode automatically so you can keep working without interruption.
What you see in the app
A connection status indicator appears in the app whenever there is a connectivity issue. You will see one of two messages:
• Server issues - The ACP server is currently unavailable. The app has switched to offline mode. You can still access your visits, care plans, and forms. Any updates you make will sync automatically when the server is back.
• Connection problem - Your device does not have an internet connection. Check your Wi-Fi or mobile data. This is separate from a server issue - the server itself may be fine.
When your connection is working normally, no indicator is shown.
What you can do in offline mode
When the app switches to offline mode you can still:
• View your scheduled visits for today and upcoming days.
• Open service user records, care plans, and forms that have already loaded on your device.
• Record visit notes, complete activities, and submit forms.
Any changes you make while offline are saved on your device and uploaded to the server automatically as soon as the connection is restored. You do not need to do anything - the app handles this for you.
Note: Information that has not yet been downloaded to your device will not be available offline. Make sure you sync regularly so your device stays up to date.
When your connection comes back
You do not need to do anything when your connection is restored. The app checks the server automatically and switches back to online mode as soon as it confirms the connection is healthy. The status indicator disappears and any data you created offline syncs in the background.
Common questions
Why am I seeing 'server issues' even though I have Wi-Fi or mobile data?
Having a network connection does not always mean the ACP server is available. The server could be undergoing maintenance or experiencing a temporary issue. In this case your device is online but the app cannot reach the server. The app will keep checking and switch back to normal when the server is available again.
Will I lose any data I enter while offline?
No. Everything you enter while offline will sync automatically when the connection is restored. You do not need to re-enter anything.
How do I know if my offline data has synced?
Once the connection is restored and the status indicator disappears, the app will sync in the background. You can also trigger a manual sync at any time to confirm your data has been uploaded.
